Importing analog and fm patches

Post by jemap »

Hi,

After hundreds hours of analysis, I can create afp files from scratch (analog and fm for now).
I've made 3 windows applications to convert patches from DX7, Synth1 vsti and NordLead 2x.
Results are very bad because of my lack of expert sound design knowledges.
Thanks to all experimented sound designers to test those afp files and tell where lie the bugs
so that I can fix them and define good formulas to be coded.
Mac owners are welcome, as afp files are provided too ; it's all about sound design here.

Those are and will remain free public non-commercial projects.
Each zip file contains a converter, source patches, afp programs already converted, read me text.
You should start reading the "read me" files first.
I'm french but text files are written in english language.
Please, tell me what source synth you're talking about within your following suggestions.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/3etypeifwdx40 ... n.zip?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qxb6vfq09ghao ... N.zip?dl=0

I thank you all.

Tell me more about the site where thes files are stored, McAfee site security gives me the following warning!

"Whoa! Are you sure you want to go there?http://www.fileden.com/files/2011/9/12/3194741/My ... may cause a breach of browser security.
Why were you redirected to this page?
When we tested this site, it attempted to make unauthorized changes to our test computer by exploiting a browser security vulnerability.
This is a serious security threat which could lead to an infection of your computer."

Files sharing site is http://www.fileden.com/.

http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/fileden.com/msgpage

It seems that Fileden has been evaluated as a risky place by some McAfee users that encountered bad issues with past infected shared files.
I think Fileden is safe in itself but some hosted files could remain infected as some private uploaders can be hackers or unprotected users.

I'm working on 2 computers, one with Avast, one with Norton 360 and I've never got any problem sharing files through Fileden.

However, nobody can be sure of the health of its own or any web files and I consider myself as my first firewall, deleting or avoiding all suspicious mails, adverts, sites or links.
Files have been uploaded on other online files sharing site 4shared, but if any McAfee or other antivirus user faced a problem with a previous file dowloaded from 4shared,
he could already have put the whole 4shared site as a suspicious one, like all online sharing services.

I think those sites have inner antivirus scans as they would lost users, then advertisers, so money.
If I upload malwares, my accounts would be suspended and all my files would be deleted by the host, not only the infected files.

I also found about FM conversion :
FM-Templates (DX7)
FM-4op. template á la DX27, V-50, etc. for you all

That 4op patch i made a while ago, now i am making an excel sheet where you can put in the Yamaha V-50 (or other 4op-synth) parameters etc. The sheet then converts the numbers to match the Fusion.

Great work jemap!
Can you share the analog/FM file structure? Do you know if the structure used in the AllianceHD project is correct?
Thank you,
cb

I will prepare and share documents about afp files, although it's not complete.

AllianceHD project seems impressive and far more ambitious ; I must check this.

Hi,

Here is a program (Windows only) to read afp files :

_Fusion afp reader ieee754.exe

And a document (in pdf format) about the structure of a fm program within an afp file :
Fusion afp fm structure.pdf
