Following through on Cf card escapades. I have 2 rear-loading CF cards that fit a micro SD or "TF" card in the back slot, the concept being of avoiding inserting and removing CF cards from the Fusion-which can easily bend pins. If you bend even one pin, you are s***ed, and have to open the Fusion, and remove the metal shielding that covers the mainboard-and even then, I had to use very thin X-Acto knife blade tools inserted in the back Fusion CF card slot to straighten the pins. Not for the faint of heart or shaky hands. HOWEVER...ran into a problem. The Fusion "sees" the card, shows its capacity-but no matter how I try to format it-it will not format. Throws a "PBR" error which stands for partition boot record. I tried formatting it first with the Fusion-tested with another Cf card and the slot works, and formatted another Cf card without my new adapter card...this is a new mainboard so..... then I tried formatting in the computer and then in the Fusion, still no good. I'm stumped as to why this would not work. I was under the impression that the file structure on an SD (or in this case a TF card) and on a CF card were the same-but I guess not. As usual, another computer foobar that makes no sense, at least not to me. I tried manually creating the folders, files through the computer, but still nothing. So another grand idea bites the big one.
But for the price of admission (59.00 and change), I'm not sure its worth it. Seems like the most compact extender/adapter I could find. Have tried a...
Found this on Amazon and had to try it. This is designed for slim Type 1 CF slots which isn't really necessary for the Fusion. It fits perfectly and...
