Apparently not too much activity here except jesse and parametric lately, so jumping in again.
I have had little success finding much data about using the control knobs and switches (T1,2,3,4 and S1 and S2) so have had to do alot of guesswork, even with the manual in front of me. What I have found, as little as it is, has been very useful-as I can control certain aspects of for example an organ's leslie on/off, and using the knobs as drawbar type controls in a track in song mode.
Some of the pre-programmed sounds already are set to use the knobs to replicate drawbars by opening and closing filter. I have used a program called "dirty organ" which I import into a song with its effects using the utility function, but that does not set up the programs mods to work from within the song. I needed to create new mods within the song, and based upon the programmed effects imported from the dirty organ's effects first. Wasn't too difficult to get the mod wheel usable for leslie on/off at least, and another knob to bring in a second oscillator with a brighter tone. I also managed to use S1's switch to bring in a 3rd oscillator for 1 percussion effect, so far so good.
The problem that is still confusing me...although it seems like i can record the real-time changes I make into the track using these controls-the controls are still active when playing the track back, and are affecting what is happening when I play the track back-seems like unless I zero back the mod wheel-I am not getting the changes i thought i recorded to play back. Looking at track "events" in the song editor, I can see the CC data is there, so I'm still not sure how this works. I recall and have read a post here detailing how one track's real-time changes must be recorded to a separate track and that track's data must be connected to the program used-such as my dirty organ sound, but that still makes no sense-every workstation or sequencer I've used lets me record real-time changes from within the same track. So any suggestions to clarify any of this-it is one of the more difficult aspects to the Fusion IMO, but there is alot of potential here. I just am not sure how to make some of these functions work without alot of experimenting. For example, I just discovered another very easy way to create a fade-in/out with a midi track-I'll post in another category.
