I have had to put off completion of the service key for a short while, I've been busy rebuilding three computers and installing a generator transfer switch and lastly I need to replace the amp for my Polk Audio subwoofer in my music room. I received the amp so once these last two items are completed I will continue building the Service Keys :) Sometime in March I have a lot of maintenance work to do on the 1977 Honda CB550F Super Sport

I can't believe it was 82 F here today :)

My friend in N.C. had the same temps, even for Virginia and NC a little abnormal I would think. I can't believe you did this transfer switch on your own. I had an electrician install my connection-too many houses around here burn down due to faulty electric installs-done before there were no inspection criteria around here. and i have alot of troubleshooting house-wise too electrically. Very hard to find any electrician around here that knows a wire nut from a walnut, I've been through 3 already that half-finished work and disappeared. And I have several switches in this house that make no sense at all-house was renovated before I got here and the electrician must have been the one with the walnuts. but that's another user group....house wiring makes the fusion look simple in my place at least. And I am hoping our new poster who seems to know about this service key, will get back to us with more info. would be a waste if you made the midi adapter, and we had nothing to plug it into, or even understood how it connects!!

I still have 2 fusion mainboards with minor defects i wish i could send to somebody to diagnose. I'm thinking I might try to get in touch with Mike at InMusic, the tech who found these for me, ask him if he can troubleshoot if I describe what is wrong. Seems a shame to have 2 full almost completely working mainboards sitting doing nothing especially as these parts are scarcer than ever.

Yeah, I emailed Amanda I told her TSI was no longer in business so there are no known Alesis Service Centers on the East Coast and asked if I could be trained to use the Service Key, but I have not received any reply back :(

I try to avoid wire nuts and if I do use them I usually solder the wires together before using wire nuts or I splice them and use heat shrink tubing.

The Generator transfer switch is something that I take my time with wiring. I previously had a homeowner's permit to totally rewire my house in Williamsburg VA from a 60 amp to a 200 amp service and replace all the non grounded outlets with grounded outlets with a 100 branch circuit going out to the garage I built :)

I also hate the cheap outlets and wall switches that contractors usually install when they build new homes, I ended up replacing a wall switch in my son's old home that shorted out and came close to starting a fire. The electricians? tend to use the quick wire insert instead of the wire screw terminals, the screw terminals provide much better contact area and are much safer than the quick push in wire connection!

All we can do is try and hope for the best :)

Take Care JD

Agreed re duplex outlets and switchboxes-i've replaced almost every one in both houses I've lived in the past 10 years here in the poconos-due to poor wiring and plastic that just disintegrates over time-electric heating ducts below duplex boxes did that. No wonder these houses burn up here sometimes. I've had a professional do my generator hookup to my panel-and to make sure my panel was wired properly. Nice bike by the way.

Our other line of inquiry-I am still intending to visit an apparently huge new building full of keyboards old and new-which is adjacent the former TSI building in Midland park which is still within driving distance fro me but around 140 mile found trip. I am hoping one of the TSI techs might work in this relatively new place but i think an in-person visit will be best. I intend to do this, I know exactly where this place is, i used to pick up construction supplies right there when i worked in construction-it is an industrial zone in Midland Park, this keyboard shop looks very interesting, I've posted a link to this place somewhere here before, i may see if I can get in touch with their phone line. i posted an email, but did not get a response. If they can take the place of TSI, it will be worth the trip-to have an experienced qualifie tech available, for the Fusions and others.
