Chris and i have been trying to educate the Facebook Fusion group members to come here. Apparently many have no idea this resource exists, and thanks to Jesse, they can benefit from years of experience/know-how here. There is so much history you have saved.
Perhaps....Numark would take a look here and all the renewed interest, and think about reviving the Fusion. With all the other cheap products they're churning out-digital drums excepted...I see nothing in their catalog that approaches what this was and is.
They must still have the copyrights-get in touch with Taiho, other developers, they might be interested in revisiting this, wouldn't have to do much, its pretty much all there already. A few minor easy to accomplish updates, this could compete with anything on the market or better it IMO. Faster data bus for the drive(s) including an outboard working SATA port, color touchscreen, more sample RAM and a high impedance guitar input or 2. 8-9 faders like the Kurzweils, Kronos, Montage, Roland. The chips inside have more capabilities that were not implemented in the Fusion but are there-read the data sheets, these are still formidable chips, just don't use lead-free solder which caused some of the problems. I know this because i sent out a mainboard to be diagnosed by a tech outfit and that is the defect they found, failed connections with at least one of the main ICs due to bad solder joints in the surface mount ball joints.
Maybe a redesign of the shell although I like that it is different than everything else. Add a slide-out cup/snack tray
now its one step better than all of them!!!!
