Fusion Sound Banks by kpr

Post by Jesse »

I decided to make a forum section to place information about all of the Fusion Sound Banks klaus has produced for the Alesis Fusion
Hope you like it, I am in the process of copying posts from this board about kpr's sound banks to this section.

A Fusion Sound Banks by kpr subforum, now that's cool!!

Good idea btw, so anyone can ask questions for specific products or even post sound demand for future updates or new products, and there will be, that's for sure.

Just a few words about the older postings regarding "Free Sounds". There were some and I decided to discontinue them a long while ago. When I came up with them the product catalog was way smaller and it was a kind of promotion. But later so many new products came out and many of them are sample libraries. This made it impossible to create new "Free Sounds" soundbanks and the previous "Free Sounds" was simply dated back then. Also I did extensive mp3 Audio demos and they give an impression about each product, and since a couple of months I even do video clips on youtube. So please don't ask for the "Free Sounds" by email, they are not available anymore.

The next three instruments on the Fusion Club http://fusioneer.proboards.com/thread/2 ... nstruments
@kpr wrote:You're so right and sometimes we got the chance for relaxing moments, at least for a day or so.

Perhaps you and Chris or someone else can help to find the right decision for the new sample instruments packages. As they're all done it's really just the Presets what's still on the to-do list.

Here are the sample instruments audio demos (Korg Kronos format is already released) and I still have no idea about the right package concept for the Fusion version, or should I release them as convenient single sample instruments one by one?

Hohner Electra-piano, Pianet T (amped) and String Melody II. The string ensembles ARP Omni, Elka Rhapsody 610 and Crumar Performer. And the organ section with the Lowrey Theatre model, Farfisa Compact, Vox Continental V301 and Philicorda GM751.

This is the Rhodes MkI Suitcase 73, which is in total 738 MBs. That's a bit large for the Fusion RAM and it might be the best just to release the small looped versions instead of the full length 4-V-Switch one.

If I counted correctly it looks like 10 0r 11 sound banks.

How about any 3 for $$, any 6 for $$ or a complete bundle package for $$

Or maybe all the Epiano's in one package and the rest bundled together, whatever you decide I am sure we will be happy :)

Personally I would like the Hohner Electra-piano, Pianet T (amped) & Rhodes MkI Suitcase 73 to be as large as the Fusion with expanded memory can handle :)

Thanks again Klaus for your continued support of the Alesis Fusion, I only wish Alesis would provide as much support :)

This section is a VERY good idea Jesse - and thanks for your work implementing it . . .

I've thought for a long time that Klaus should have a shop-window here, given the tremendous support he gives for the Fusion . . .

People are STILL discovering the Fusion, which despite its "peculiarities", represents amazing value and possibilities, even in today's market (IMO). The build quality and socketry STILL put many contemporary boards "in the shade" . . .

BIT records gives users "somewhere to go" for fresh and inspiring Banks to equip their Fusions with.

I still have a secret hankering after a 6HD to go with my 8HD - if only to gain a more portable solution that can contain ALL my work "to date".

The 8HD is a beast to transport, but I love it's keybed deeply . . . .

And again there are new sample recording sessions done. This is no surprise as I work for manufacturers and support current sample formats too. This makes it possible to convert the results also to Fusion format.

Recently I recorded a Hohner Pianet N, which is a bit different to the Pianet T.

And also a very nice Grotrian-Steinweg 120 Upright from 1931 in a very good shape.

The Program Presets making for the Fusion is a time consuming process. This is why I'm a bit behind my own schedule in this case.

Klaus,

You DO seem to track down some interesting instruments - and it must be fun to revisit some of these in the studio when you sample them . . .

It must be satisfying that the work you put into the sampling can repay you in such a multithreaded way, with the different formats you offer.

Maximising the return on your work - which is good.

I'm sure we are all grateful that you CONTINUE to put many of these, the Fusion's way DESPITE the extra effort it costs you. THANKS for that!

I am wondering if you now use the NEW Fusion Creator from Garth@ChickenSys?

Have you noticed that the shortcomings you have mentioned with the original "Converter" have been addressed to your satisfaction, in the new "Creator"?

I'm sure we would value your thoughts on this . . . .

Best Regards

As the Creator is in beta-phase I'll wait until version 1.1 :)

The current Fusionconverter is fine to my needs, although it's not perfect. Moving the edited and mapped multisamples from the EXC to it and convert to Fusion format is a cake and even a huge sample library doesn't take longer than 1 hour to make the data ready to transfer to the Fusion. No big deal at all.

At this moment it looks that I follow Jesse's advice to make smaller libs with just a few instruments each to get them quickly into the release candidate phase and offer a discount for purchasing 2 or 3 libs at once.

This means that new sounds for the Fusion will be available rather soon :)
